I have to say I enjoyed the two nights and a day in Portland . As predicted the chick from last night wont be looking me up any time soon . I tried to avoid the back to my place bit , but she was very persistent . we hit the bed running as soon as I opened the door . Within 5 she had discovered my little problem and was back out the door as soon as you could say "string malfunction " . Didn't even say thank you for the stimulating conversation .

While we are on the subject of woman , I couldn't help but notice that the woman in Portland were not the tight top and short skirt type that i am helplessly attracted to . I did actually see a couple of those types on a corner by the hotel the other night But Jeff warned me the there may be a couple of surprises under those pelmets . No the women here are different all together . There is an incredible commitment to hair. Not the Clairol type commitment , this more about body hair . Call me old fashioned but surly there is nothing wrong with removing one or two hairs when they start appearing from beneath your tee shirt sleeves and winking at complete strangers

The men are no better . the last time I saw beards like these was during the tenth month of the workers strike at the Gillette factory . Its like a Taliban convention . Its useful for identifying the gender of a person if need be, but having said that it is by no means a guarantee .

last and not least Whats with all the drumming ? I ask you when was the last time you felt the need to play an upturned bucket or box all day ? They don't even synchronise . Its just a bloody racket .

I almost forgot this is the last day in the car for me .Big Stephen and I fly to Vegas for a show tomorrow. It used to be all about him now its about both of us . I know I complained about coming on this trip but I think I may have liked it . Even the celebrity status is starting to feel more comfortable . I wont let it go to my head though I promise .
The driving is now over but we still have a night and a show in Vancouver , so I may post a last blog tomorrow .
